Shawn Wiscombe
Shawn Wiscombe was born and raised in St. George. He is a graduate of Dixie High School and attended Dixie College. Following his service as an LDS missionary in Alberta, Canada he continued his education at Cypress College of Mortuary Science. He met his future wife, Sue Wilkinson, during a visit at Dixie Regional Medical Center where she performed his x-rays.
Following graduation he moved his small family to Caliente, Nevada where they owned and operated Wiscombe Funeral Home. In 1997 he was appointed by Governor Guinn to serve as a County Commissioner in Lincoln County and in 1999 he was asked by the Lincoln County Hospital District Board if he would assume the position as their hospital Administrator, he accepted and loved the opportunity to strengthen the medical resources within the county. In 2005 he sold his Funeral Home, resigned from the hospital and moved to Davis, California where he owned and operated Wiscombe Funeral Home and opened a second location in Winters, California in 2009. In December 2010 he returned home to St. George and was delighted when he was offered a position with Zion’s Way. An opportunity to return home was something he never imagined would happen, particularly to be close to his parents, Warren and Susan Hannig and near his siblings. His heart is full when he can look around at those landmarks that provide that true sense of home, Pine Valley Mountain, The Red Hill, Zions and The ‘D’ that overlooks our community.
Shawn has a deep passion for music, both vocal and piano, and has been fortunate to perform in numerous productions and events. He loves spending time with his family, traveling, supporting their sports and music and game nights at home.
Shawn and Sue have four amazing children; Braden (currently serving an LDS mission in Budapest, Hungary); Hannah; Parker and Chandler.
