Jason Smith
Jason Smith was born and raised in Richmond Virginia, but moved west 10 years ago to Southern Utah
and currently resides in Hurricane. Jason graduated from Dixie State College and Weber State University
with his license as a Respiratory Therapist.
Jason served in the U.S Air force as a Medic for 8 years, highlighted by being a member of a
humanitarian medical team that travelled to the Sahara desert region of North Africa to provide aid to
the Moroccan people. Jason also served as a flight medic attached to an F-16 fighter squadron based in
Virginia and supported the goals of Aerospace medicine in that unit.
Jason was clever enough to convince his lovely wife Xandra to marry him 18 years ago and they have 4
children aged 17, 16, 12, and 9 (two girls, two boys). The Smith family enjoys the arts, the outdoors, and
the girls are currently enrolled at the Tuacahn high school where they delight in the opportunity to take
dance as part of their education. His boys attend the Vista school in Ivins.
Jason and Xandra are passionate about running, whole foods, reading, history and the family unit.
Currently they are trying their hand at turning their little half acre into a “mini-farm” complete with
chickens, fruit trees and a variety of vegetables.
Jason is ecstatic about working for Zion’s Way and looks forward to helping serve the people of
Southern Utah.
