Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy is a form of massage that is distinguished from other types of massage in that a quasi-static pressure is applied to the skin with the aim of stimulating specific areas of skeletal muscle. Often these areas of muscle are myofascial trigger points. The application of NMT is dependent on several key factors; the location of the myofacial trigger points and the force has to be applied perpendicular to the skin surface if muscle is to be stimulated.

Trigger Point

Trigger point work is specifically designed to alleviate the source of the pain through cycles of isolated pressure and release. In this type of massage, the recipient actively participates through deep breathing as well as identifying the exact location and intensity of the discomfort. The result of trigger point massage is the elimination of toxins in the muscles and the release of energizing endorphins. A significant decrease in pain is often found after just one treatment.

Private Sound Healing

The session begins with having the client create an intention for healing to focus on, while they are immersed in a sea of harmonic sound. A chakra reading is first performed to determine areas of energetic blocks or sluggish areas. The ancient sacred sound instruments are then placed around the client and on their torso. The bowls are struck or sung in specific patterns that create the sound frequency of "ohm", a sound of creation. This sound frequency, also considered to be the vibration of "perfection", impacts the sympathetic nervous system causing the brain waves to slow down, calming respiration, brain activity and the heart rate. In addition these sound harmonics disrupt the pain reflex creating a deep sense of well- being.
