When our dear friend, Georgia, required nursing care to remain in her assisted living apartment, we hired Zion's Way Hospice to care for her. From the very beginning of Georgia's relationship with this organization, every member of Zion's Way Hospice has been kind, caring and attentive.
When Georgia had to be moved to a nursing home, Zion's Way Hospice continued their care for Georgia at our request. They even helped move her household goods to a storage unit.
They were the primary caregivers for a very challenging wound, all the while respecting Georgia's desire to abstain from traditional, medical care. We have the deepest respect and gratitude to these folks who honored Georgia's desire not to be given any medication, despite the severe nature of her wound. Likewise, several of the Zion's Way Hospice caregivers regularly read to Georgia from her own religious books.
The Zion's Way Hospice folks bathed, fed and read to Georgia, daily. There were even many days when Georgia needed multiple baths. They provided fruits, flowers and anything they thought would help her life be easier and happier. Conversing with Georgia was not always a two-way conversation but they still lovingly tried to communicate with her. They also gave her manicures and painted her nails and put make-up on her to help her maintain her dignity.
Their love and care were above and beyond the call of duty. They not only helped with Georgia's care but served as a listening ear and served as a go-between with Georgia and the administrators of the nursing care facility. They were true professionals.
We could not have managed the care or subsequent loss of our dear loved one without the incredibly thoughtful, giving and unselfish group of folks at Zion's Way. They are simply the best!
